The purpose of the present study is to investigate the contributions of socio-demographic variables, career burnout, marital adjustment, spouse support, marriage and relationship on the prediction of couple burnout of married individuals according to their gender differences. The research group is consisted of 435 voluntary married university staff in Mersin University (235 female; 200 male). Data were collected using “Couple Burnout Measure (CBM)”, “Burnout Measure (BM)”, “Marital Adjustment Scale (MAS)” and “Personal Information Sheet”. In order to analize the data stepwise linear multiple regression analysis was employed and significance level was taken as 0.05 for analyses. As a result of analysis, it is found that married female and male individuals’ couple burnout scores were predicted by different variables. The findings were discussed according to the literature.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, eş tükenmişliğinin yordanmasında sosyo-demografik özellikler, mesleki tükenmişlik, evlilik uyumu, eş desteği, evlilik ve ilişki ile ilgili değişkenlerin cinsiyet farklılıkları açısından katkılarını incelemektir. Araştırma grubunu, Mersin Üniversitesi’den çalışmaya gönüllü olarak katılmayı kabul eden ve evrenden seçkisiz olarak seçilen 435 evli kadın (n=235) ve erkek (n=200) üniversite personeli oluşturmuştur. Veriler “Tükenmişlik Ölçeği (TÖ)”, “Eş Tükenmişlik Ölçeği (ETÖ)”, “Evlilikte Uyum Ölçeği (EUÖ) ve “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Aşamalı doğrusal çoklu regresyon analizinin kullanıldığı çalışmada hata payı üst sınırı 0.05 kabul edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda, evli kadın ve erkek bireylerin eş tükenmişliği puanlarının, farklı değişkenler tarafından yordandığı bulunmuştur. Bulgular literatür ışığında tartışılmıştır.
