Abstract (2. Language):
As we know from ancient literary sources and archaeological discoveries, the city of Mastaura was located near ancient city of Nysa at the Meander.
Located three kilometers from Nazilli town between the Bozyurt and Eyelli plateaus, Mastaura is situated on the road that connected Ephesos with Calaene. In ancient times it was one of the commercial emporia in the Meander valley that minted its own coinage.Some monuments and coins were found in the region that is called 'Mastavra Castle' among public.

e coins of the city either depicted the sanctified local god, goddess or the heroes of the city or revealed the local product which symbolized the regional wealth or economic sources of the city.

Antik yazılı kaynaklar ve arkeolojik belgelerden edindiğimiz bilgilere göre, Mastaura Menderes nehri kıyısında Nysa antik kenti yakınında kurulmuştur.
Nazilli ilçesine 3 km uzaklıkta Bozyurt ve Eyelli yaylaları arasında kurulan kent, Efes'i Celenea'ya bağlayan yol üzerinde olup antik Menderes havzasının para darbeden ticaret merkezlerinden biridir.
Bugün halk arasında 'Mastavra Kalesi' denilen mevkide bu kente ait yazıt ve sikkeler bulunmuştur.
Kentin sikke tipi bazen kutsadığı tanrı, tanrıça ya da kahramanlar bazen de kentin yöresel zenginliğine ve ekonomik kaynağına işaret eden bir ürün olabiliyordu.
