Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease that can cause serious problems in young people and can affect quality of life negatively. Educating and counseling the patients is important in the controlling process of the disease as well as medical treatment. Nurses, who are responsible for the physical, cognitive and psychologıcal well-being of patients, can help them to increase their life standarts by giving educational and counselling services. In this context, the problems of MS patients, also the educational and counselling topics which can guide to the patients and caregivers about the problems they come face to face are mentioned in this article.

Multipl skleroz (MS) genç yaştaki bireylerde ciddi sorunlara yol açabilen ve yaşam kalitesini olumsuz yönde etkileyebilen kronik bir hastalıktır. Hastalığın kontrol altına alınmasında tıbbi tedavinin yanı sıra eğitim ve danışmanlık hizmetleri de büyük önem taşır. Hastaların fiziksel, bilişsel ve ruhsal iyilik halinden sorumlu olan hemşireler, hastalara verecekleri eğitim ve danışmanlık hizmetleri ile hastaların yaşam kalitesinin artmasını sağlayabilir. Bu bağlamda makalede MS hastalarının yaşadığı sorunlar ve bu sorunlara yönelik hastalara ve bakım verenlere rehber olabilecek eğitim ve danışmanlık konularına yer verilmiştir.
