Abstract (2. Language):
The reliability ofupper limb anthropometry as a predictor ofbodyfat in obese women. The aim of this study is to cvaluate the relationshİps betwcen upper limb anthropometric parame-ters and body fat in obese (body mass iııdex, BMI >27 kg/m2) women. Study group is consis-ted of 215 obese subjects. There were signifİcant posİtİvc corrclatİons betwcen upper arm arca (TUA) and weight (r:.7393), BMI (r:.7434), fat mass determined by bioelectric impedance analysis (BIA) (FW) (n.7288) and lean mass by BIA (LAV) (r:.5120); between upper arm fat area (UFA) and vveight (r:.7112), BMI (r:.6659), FW (r:.7074) ve LW (r:.5346) and between corrected arm muscle area (cAMA) and weight (r:.7133), BMI (r:.7192), FW (r:.6920) and ve LAV (r:.4996). In conclusİon, TUA, UFA and cAMA wcre simple equations to assess body composition.
Abstract (Original Language):
Bu çalışma şişman kadınlarda vücut yağ miktarının belirlenmesinde üst kol antropomctrilc parametrelerinin değerini araştırmak amacıyla yapıldı. 215 şişman (vücut kitle indeksi, BMI>27 kg/m2) kadında üst kol antropometrik ölçümlerinden hesaplanan rota! üst kol alanı (TUA) ağırlık (r:.7393), vücut kitle indeksi (BMI) (r:.7434), biyoelektrik impedans analiz (BIA) yöntemi ile hesaplanan yağ (FW) (r:.7288) ve adale kitlesi (LAV) (r:.5120); üst kol yağ alanı (UFA) ile ağırlık (r:.7112), BMI (r:.6659), FW (r:.7074) ve LW (r:.5346) ve düzeltilmiş adale alanı (cAMA) ile ağırlık (r:.7i33), BMI (r:.7192), FW (r:.6920) ve LW (r:.4996) arasında anlamlı pozitif ilişkiler saptandı (tümü için p:.000). Bu bulgular üst kol antropometrik parametrelerinin şişman kadınlarda vücut bileşimi {vücut yağ miktarı) hakkında fikir verebileceğini desteklemektedir
