Scientific branch and military branch that determined according to the scientific branch, are very important for cadets because of their future 20-30 old year duty life. In this study a mathematical model was developed for cadets to assign scientific branches. Mathematical model is an assignment model and coefficients in model were calculated by using technique “Analytic Hierarchy Process”. To calculate coefficients, two criterions were determined: preference (five sub-criterion) and scientific background (thirteen sub-criterion). These criterion’s, Sub-criterion’s weights were calculated by the questionnaires applied approximately 150 lecturers and professors. To see the efficiency of the proposed mathematical model, results/statistics that taken by the same data set were compared.

Harbiyelilerin bilimsel dalı ve bilimsel dalına göre belirlenen askerî sınıfları, subay adayının 20-30 senelik meslek hayatına yön veren temel etkenlerdir. Bu çalışmada, Harbiyelilerin bilimsel dallarının belirlenmesi için yeni bir matematiksel model geliştirilmiştir. Model tipik bir atama modeli olup, katsayıların hesaplanması için Analitik Hiyerarşi Süreci kullanılmıştır. Katsayıların hesaplanmasında kullanılan tercih ve bilimsel altyapı kriter ve alt kriterlerinin hangi ağırlıklarla etkin olması gerektiği, 150 kadar öğretim elemanına uygulanan anketler vasıtasıyla elde edilmiştir. Aynı veri seti kullanılarak mevcut yöntemle ve önerilen yöntemle yapılan atama sonuçları karşılaştırılmıştır.
