Organofosfat insektisit Fenthion'un rat amila z ve lipaz enzimleri üzerine etkisi: Vitamin E ve C'nin rolü

The effects of organophosphate insecticide Fenthion on rat amylase and lipase enzymes: Role of vitamins E and C

Abstract (2. Language):
Organophosphates cause toxic effects via inhibition of the enzyme, cholinesterase. In some poisonings, they cause acute pancreatitis. Therefore we aimed to investigate organophosphate insecticide Fenthion's adverse effects on rat pancreas and whether Vitamins C and E have protective role on possible adverse effects of Fenthion. Study groups were designed as control group, Fenthion treated (administered % 25 of LD50) group and Fenthion+Vitamins C and E treated group. The blood samples were obtained 24 hours after Fenthion treat¬ment. The activities of serum enzymes were determined in each sample at 24 h. When compared with control group lipase activity was significantly decreased in Fenthion treated group. When compared with Fenthion treated group lipase activity was significantly increased in Fenthion+Vitamins E and C treated group. In conclusion from this findings, it is thought that Fenthion causes pancreas damage when administered at these doses to rats ,and that this may be prevented by Vitamins E and C treatment. Probably antioxidant mechanism mediates the preventive effect of Vitamins E and C .
Abstract (Original Language):
Organofosfatlar kolinesteraz enzimini inhibe ederek toksik etkilere neden olmaktadır.
