The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the state of alienation and demographic characteristics of employees in five-star hotels. For this purpose; we used a structured questionnaire to collect data from employees of 18 five-star hotels, which operate in Antalya-Kemer region. As the result, we collected data from 539 employees, who work in reception, service, kitchen, and housekeeping departments. Analyses results postulated that self estrangement is the most frequent dimension of alienation. Furthermore, it is discovered that there are statistically significant differences for certain demographic variables within the context of dimensions of alienation.

Bu çalışmanın amacı; beş yıldızlı otel işletmeleri çalışanlarının yabancılaşma durumları ile demografik özellikleri arasındaki ilişkinin tespit edilmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda; Antalya, Kemer’de bulunan 18 adet beş yıldızlı otel işletmesinin resepsiyon, servis, mutfak ve kat hizmetleri departmanlarından toplam 539 çalışana anket yöntemiyle ulaşılarak veri toplanmıştır. Yapılan analiz sonuçlarına göre çalışanlarda en fazla kendine yabancılaşma durumu gözlemlenmiş ve çalışanların çeşitli demografik özelliklerinin bazı yabancılaşma boyutları kapsamında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar gösterdiği bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır.
