Abstract (2. Language):
Although different census had been done in Ottoman period, about the detailed population informations of Antalya reached firstly the period of Republic. According to census of J 927 that the first census of Republic of Turkey, there were 93.212 men, II 1.160 ivomett and total 204.372 people. They were Korkuteli, Akseki, Antalya and Alaiye districts that had the most population density. Antalya, had a young and healthy population. That is, population of Antalya had grown¬up structure from the workability point of view. On the contrary, it was rather few /pre/ that the literacy of the young population. Consequently, the rate of literacy in Antalya was 5 percent that was less than the average of Turkey. Therefore, It was obvious that needed to a lot of school and teacher. Because of many wars which occured frequently. 19.015 women and merely 95S men were counted in the rate of widowed people. It was observated that happened migrations to Antalya and from Antalya that brought on important changes in demographic structure.

Osman/t dönemimle çeşitli nüfus sayımları yapılmış olma/da beraber, Antalya nüfusuna ait ilk ayrıntılı bilgilere Cumhuriyet dönemimle ulaşılmıştır, ¡927 yılında gerçekleştirilen Cumhuriyet döneminin ilk gene! nüfus sayımına göre Antalya 'da 93.212 erkek, 111,160 karim toplam 204,372 kişi bulunmaklaydı. Nüfus yoğunluğu bakımından en fazla değere sahip ilçeler Korkuteli, Akseki, Antalya ve Alaiye olmuştur. Antalya bu yıllarda oldukça genç ve sağlam bir nüfusa sahiptir. Yani çalısabilirtik yönünden gelişkin bir yapıdadır. Öte yandan aynı genç nüfusun okuma yazına oranı oldukça düşük seviyelerdedir. Dolaylıyla, okumu yazma bilenlerin oranı % 5 ile Türkiye ortalamasının altında kalmıştır. Bu nedenle çok sayıda Öğretmen ve okula ihtiyaç duyulduğu ortadadır. Ülkenin üst üste gelen savaşlardan çıkmış olmasının etkisiyle dul nüfus oranında 19.015 kadın ve sadece 958 erkek sayılmıştır. Sayımda Antalya'ya olan ve Antalya 'dan dışarıya gerçekleşen göçlerin demografik yapıda önemli değişmelere yol açtığı da gözlenmektedir.
