Communication via the internet is common among children. Children may be target to sexual harassment and several threats due to unsafe use of the internet in a virtual environment. As a result, they can experience various mental problems. In this paper, a case of 14 years old acute stress disorder, due to sexual harass¬ment and threats caused by blind use of internet is presented. It is important to take steps to raise awareness among parents and chil¬dren regarding safe use of internet. Doctors have an important role as a consultant in this issue.

internet ile iletişim çocuklar arasında yaygındır. internetin güvensiz kullanımına bağlı olarak çocuklar sanal ortamda cinsel tacize, tehditlere hedef olabilmektedir. Bunun sonucunda çeşitli ruhsal sorunlar yaşayabilmektedirler. Bu yazıda, bilinçsiz internet kullanımına bağlı cinsel taciz ve tehditler sonucu akut stres bozukluğu ortaya çı¬kan 14 yaşında bir olgu sunulmaktadır. Ebeveynlerin ve çocukların güvenli internet kullanımı konusunda farkındalıklarının artırılması için adımlar atılması ve hekimlerin bu konuda danışmanlık vermeleri önemlidir.
