Abstract (2. Language):
Objective: To investigate with whom and why adolescents going to the high school share their physical and psychiatric problems. Method: In central Afyon a total of 404 students going to three different high schools with socio-culturally mixed struc¬ture, were included in the study group. The students were asked to answer 20 questions and the data was analysed by SPSS software, using Chi-square test. Results: We found that adolescents had a high rate of psychological problems (62.1%) and that these problems caused suicidal thoughts more than physical problems (p<0.001). Both sexes preferred to share their psychological (%32.3) and physical (%53.0) problems mostly with their mothers. It was established that number of the siblings, having a working mother and education level of the parents didn't affect this interaction. Conclusion: As a result, for a healthy society, our findings indi¬cate the need of education for parents and adolescents.
