Abstract (2. Language):
As Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have started to penetrate our daily lives intensively and employed in office environments, consequent changes observed in our individual, social and professional lives. Especially, with the recent trend of women joining to the work force, we have observed their large employment in office environments. Women are largely employed as secretaries in today’s offices. Secretaries could make direct and significant impacts on efficiencies of managers and other employees in office environments and quality of their work outputs. However, academic studies on secretaries are very limited. In this study, technology acceptance and usage of secretaries residing in İzmir province have been tested empirically with one of the most widely used Management Information Systems (MIS) theoretical frameworks, the extended version of Technology Acceptance Model (E-TAM) by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The data gave large empirical support to the relationships posed by underlying theoretical framework.
