Abstract (2. Language): 
While recent developments in the world accelerate globalization it also orients countries toward regional-ization and making regional agreements. Most of the developing countries including Turkey have adopted open market strategies in the globalization process. Beginning with 1980s Turkish economy has rescued from “state and state-sponsored-private monopolies” and mechanism of channeling savings to invest-ments has gained speed. Also, “new entrepreneur class” arisen with the globalization resulted to the emergence of “urban economies”. In this study, analysis of Denizli economy is aimed in the framework of these changes occurred in the world after the 1980s.

Günümüzde yaşanan son gelişmeler bir taraftan küreselleşmeyi hızlandırırken diğer taraftan da ülkeleri bölgeselleşmeye ve bölgesel ticaret anlaşmaları yapmaya yönlendirmektedir. Küreselleşme sürecinde Türkiye’nin de içinde bulunduğu gelişmekte olan ülkelerin birçoğu ekonomilerini küresel piyasalara aç-mışlardır. 1980’li yıllardan itibaren Türk ekonomisinin “devlet ve devlet destekli özel tekeller”den kur-tulmasını sağlayan bu süreç tasarrufların yatırımlara dönüşmesinde etkili olurken diğer taraftan Türki-ye’de her yaştan yeni bir girişimci sınıf yaratarak “kent ekonomilerinin” doğmasına neden olmuştur. Bu çalışma 1980’li yıllardan sonra dünya ekonomisinde meydana gelen değişimler ışığında Denizli eko-nomisini analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır.
