Abstract (2. Language):
In this study, a new approach has been developed to evaluate effects of diferent lithological and structural properties on the slope design and applied to an area which contains dolomite and clayey limestone deposits in the Gaziantep region. The importance of this region is increased with newly planned Gaziantep-Kahramanmaraş Highway around Tarsus- Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) Highway. During this study, four different slope have been investigated in both dolomitic and clayey limestone. Primarily, kinematic properties of four different slopes in accordance with rock mass properties and coherence of safe slope angles for selected TAG highway have been evaluated. This study showed that, economical and safe slopes, different from the applied slope angles for the TAG Highway, could be designed without having additional protection (such as wire mesh, shotcrete, rock bolt).
