Migration that is as a geography mobility of persons from a place to another place
rises in the majorty because of economic, social and political causes. There are the level of
economic development differences among regions in the base of economic reasons. So that
is expected that labour migrations from the less developed regions to developed regions.
Consequently, the developed regions for economical respect are an “attraction centers”.
After the attraction centers reach to definite contentedness, the “capacities of migration
receving” spreads surrounding provinces. As a result, both the new attraction centers arise
and “poles” existence.
In this study, the direction of internal migration will determine in Turkey. For this
purpose, migration data between 1985 and 2000 years will be used. Migration data will be
compared with income data as an indicator of ecenomic development.

Bireylerin, coğrafi olarak, bir yerden başka bir yere hareketi olan göç; çoğunlukla
ekonomik, sosyal ve siyasal nedenlerle ortaya çıkar. Ekonomik nedenlerin temelinde, bölgeler
arası ekonomik kalkınma düzeylerindeki farklılıklar vardır. Yani, emeğin ekonomik
yönden geri kalmış bölgelerden gelişmiş bölgelere doğru göç etmesi beklenir. Dolayısıyla,
ekonomik yönden gelişmiş yöreler, göç bakımından birer “çekim merkezi” oluşturur. Çekim
merkezleri zamanla belli bir doygunluğa eriştikten sonra, “göç alma kapasiteleri” çevre
illere doğru yayılır. Sonuçta, hem yeni çekim merkezleri ortaya çıkar hem de “kutuplaşma”
meydana gelir.
Çalışmamızda Türkiye’ deki iç göçlerin yönü belirlenecektir. Bu amaçla, 1985-
2000 yılları arası göç verileri kullanılacaktır. Göç verileri, ekonomik gelişmenin bir göstergesi
olması bakımından, gelir verileri ile karşılaştırılacaktır.
