Abstract (2. Language):
Mustafa Necati Sepetçioğlu is one of the foremost historical novel
writers of Turkish Literature. The writer picturing an era from
Malazgirt to the conquest of İstanbul in his early series named
“Yesterda’s Turkey” has also projected the near history of Turkey in
his late triology named “Today’s Turkey” which we will deal with in
the present study. In this triology that shows a peculiarity of an
epoch, the social problems of Turkey taking place during the power of
İnönü and Menderes have been examined by restricting the attention
to the fictive frame of the text.

Mustafa Necati Sepetçioğlu, Türk edebiyatının önde gelen tarihî
roman yazarlarındandır. “Dünki Türkiye” serisinde Malazgirt’ten
İstanbul’un fethine kadar olan dönemi anlatan yazar, bu makalenin
konusu olan “Bugünki Türkiye” üçlemesinde de Türkiye’nin yakın
dönemine ayna tutmaya çalışmıştır. Devir romanı özelliği gösteren bu
üçlemede, Türkiye’nin İnönü ve Menderes iktidarları döneminde
yaşadığı sosyal meseleler, kurgusal metin çerçevesinde kalınarak,
yoğun bir şekilde işlenmiştir.
