Ziya Gökalp'in Tarih Anlayışı ve Türk Medeniyeti Tarihi Adlı Eseri

In this article Ziya Gokalp' s history opinion and his work called Turkish Civilization History have been focused. Gokalp is a famous thinker who contributed to Turkish cultural history in the beginnings of the 20th century. According to Gokalp, history is very important for the nations and has two pq~ts. The first is objective history that is the memory of mankind. The second,is national history which is the conscience of nation that it belongs. History is the most important science division which vaccinates ideal to future generations. Ziya Gokalp wrote a Turkish Civilization History. This work was organized into three periods. The first is the period of Turkish civilization before Islam. The second period is after Islam, and the third period is Turkish civilization influenced by Western Civilization. However, Giikalp had completed just the first period of this great project and the work was published two years after his death in 1926, under the title of Turkish Civilization History.
