Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study is to define the expectations and the reasons to play tennis as a profession and to improve the skills of
the tenis players in Turkey.
The research constitutes nearly 400 competitors who are in 14-16 years category and have been players in national category
in Turkey. The sample group is 100 in total (44 both girls and 56 boys ). They had been choosen randomly from the list of Turkish Tenis
Federation.
The questionnaire of this study consist of three parts:
1-The reasons for choosing tennis
2-The reasons choosing tennis as a profession
3-The expectations from tennis.
The frequency, the percentages and the arithmetical mean value and t-test were calculated by the use of data recevied from
the questionnaire. The α ( = the internal consistency safetly factor ) was calculated as .8856 from the data gotten from the
questionnaire.
As a result of this study it could be said that the important factors encouraging the tennis are ;
-Family
-to play in the national team
-to become a popular player
-to become a famous player in the world.
On the other side the reasons for choosing tennis as a profession are listed as below;
-to be love tennis
-to see diffrent countries
-to get pleasure in having success
-to catch the happiness
and finally according the above mentioned study we couıd say that the expectations of the players from tennis could be summarised as;
-to be a famous tennis player
-to be able to get the scholarship of the universities in abroad.

Türkiye’de tenis sporu ile uğraşan ve profesyonel anlamda ilerlemek için çalışan sporcuların tenis sporuna başlama nedenleri
ve bu spor dalından beklentilerinin belirlenmesi bu araştırmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır.
Araştırma evrenini, ülkemizde ulusal kategoride yarışmacı olan ve 14-16 yaş kategorisinde yer alan yaklaşık 400 tenis
sporcusu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi ise Türkiye Tenis Federasyonu sıralamasından rastgele seçilen 14-16 yaş grubu
sporcularından toplam 100 (44 kadın–56 erkek) oyuncudan oluşan sporcu ile sınırlandırılmıştır.
Bu araştırmada kullanılmış olan anket 3 bölümden oluşmuştur.
1-Tenis sporunu seçme nedenleri
2-Tenis sporu ile profesyonel olarak uğraşma nedenleri
3-Tenis sporundan beklentiler
Anketlerden elde edilen veriler kullanılarak frekans, yüzde ve aritmetik ortalama dağılımları ve t-testi hesaplanmıştır. Yine
anketlerden elde edilen verilerle iç tutarlılık güvenilirlik sayısı = α, .8856 olarak hesaplanmıştır.
Bu çalışmanın sonucunda tenis sporuna yönelmenin en önemli nedenleri olarak;
-Aile
-Milli takım sporcusu olma isteği
-Beğenilen bir oyuncu olma isteği
-Dünyaca ünlü bir sporcu olma isteği söylenebilir.
Diğer taraftan tenis sporu ile profesyonel olarak uğraşma nedenleri aşağıdaki gibi listelenmiştir;
-Tenis sporunu sevme
-Farklı ülkeleri görme isteği
-Başarı kazanmaktan zevk alma
-Mutluluğu bu sporda yakalamak
Oyuncuların tenis sporundan beklentileri ise;
-Ünlü bir tenisçi olmak
-Yurtdışındaki üniversitelerden burs almaktır.
