Abstract (2. Language):
11 is known that physical and biological properties of salivLL play a role in dental caries. Carbonic anhydrase in saliva produces bicarbonate buffer by catalyzing carbonic acid. Tn ihis study, saliva carbonic anhydrase activity levels were investigated in carrious and noncarrious subjects. Saliva samples were collected from 15 camous and 15 noncarrious subjects which are 20-25 years of age. Carbonic anhydrase activity per mg total protein was determined by using C02 as substrate. In noncarnous subjects, carbonic anhydrase activity was determined in hi"h level. When carbonic anhydrase activity levels of this two groups were statistically compared, significant difference was found

Tükürüğün fiziksel ve biyolojik özelliklerinin di* çürüğünde rol oynadığı bilinmektedir Tükürükteki karbonik anhidraz, karbonik asili katalizleyerek, bikarbonat tamponunu üretmektedir. Bu çalışmada, çürük! ti ve cürüksıız bireylerde tükürük karbonik aııhidraz aküvite dü/eylerı incelenmiştir. 20-25 yaş grubundaki 15 çürük!U vc 15 çürükaüz bireyden tükürük örneklen alınmıştır. Mg total protein başına düşen karbonik anhidra/. aktivitesi, substrat olarak CO^in kullanjlmasıyla belirlenmiştir.
