Abstract (2. Language):
The purpose ot this study was to evaluate acute problems associated with mandibular third molars of the cases orthodontically treaLed with first premolar extractions. This sLudy was carried out on a total of 28 subjects, 14 males and 14 females, ranging in age from 18 to 22 years. Sixteen of the subjects had been treated with the extraction of four first premolars, and 14 of the cases hadn't received orthodontic treatment and none of them had any orthodontic problems. Posttrealment clinical findings of premolar extracted group were determined, and position changes of mandibular third molars were evaluated on radiographs taken from alt cases. In this study, it was determined lhat 87.5 % of the mandibular third molars in cases treated oithodotically erupted in a. mcsioangular position, and pericoronitis developed in 50 % of these teeth.
