Abstract (2. Language):
The purpose of this study was tû investigate the dentinal tubule penetration of different calcium hydroxide medicaments with scanning electron microscopy. Twenty-six newly extracted anterior teeth with single canals were used in this study. The crowns were removed, the canals were instrumented, and the roots were randomly divided into three groups of 8 each. This groups were medicated with calcium hydroxide paste, Vitapex and Caiasepl, respectively. The remaining tun teclb were not meditated and served as the control group. All specimens were incubated in I 00 % relative humidity at 37°C for 7 days and Ihen al£ of the roots were prepared Tor scanning electron microscopic evaluation. As a result, medicaments' used in this study were observed as. a thin layer on the root canal walls. Calcium hydroxide paste did not penetrate dentinal tubules. Vitapex and Calasept blucked the dentinal tubule orifices but not penetrate into tubules.
