Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of intraoral camera, periapical film, clinical inspection with a probe and laser fluorescence device (Diaynodent) in determining the caries on macroscopically intact occlusal surfaces. 40 extracted human molar teeth were used which were having microscopically intact, occlusal surfaces. The teeth were placed in a waxed block and numbered from I to 40- For the radiographic determination periapical film were taken from the teeth and processed by a standart!/.cd automatic procedure. "The radiographs were evaluated bj three different dentists. The occlusal images of the teeth were recorded with Intraoral camera and the detenuınation of images were made by three different dentistsThe clinical inspection were also made by three different dentists on the teeth with the help of the probe. Than measurements were made by dentists on each teeth where it was thought to be the deepest caries. Finally; to compare the three different detection methods with die true canes level of teeth, inesiu-distal sections were taken and the measurements were made with gold standarts. As a result it has shown that there was a significant difference between the dentists that, Diagtıodent which wys one of the methods used in detection of occlusal caries was found to be more successful with an insignificance difference than the other methods, which were clinical inspection, intraoral camera and periapical film respectively.
