ORTHODONTIC INDICES

Abstract (2. Language):
The development of a uniform method of epidemiological assessment and grading of malocclusion has been of interest for several decades. Recently, the studies for developing an ideal index in orthodontics have become popular once again. The inability to develop a universal occlusal index can be traced to an increasing understanding of the multifactorial nature of malocclusion. The aim of the present review was to describe the indices used for different purposes in orthodontics.
