Burning mouth is a syndrome characterized by burning sensations in the oral cavity, which generally could not be clinically diagnosed. Xerostomia, taste deficiency, pain stretching to eyes.and ears, tiredness, irritation and seweating symptoms accompany it. This syndrome is also known as oral dysestheria, glossopyrosis and glossodynia. Different factors play a role in its efhiology and render difficult a diagnosis. There is no specific treatment procedure for it. Cases the ethiology of which are not known and diagnosis and treatment depend on explanation ol" symptoms hy the patients are the most difficult for doctors both for diagnosis and treatment planning. The purpose of this article i& to analyze critically the available literature and to propose a diagnostic and treatment protocol for these patients

Burning mouth sendromu , ağızda lokal veya yaygın yanma duyusu ile karakterize çoğunlukla oral mukozada klinik bulgusu saptanamayan bir sendromdur. Ağızda yanma hissi ile beraber kuruluk, tat almada bozukluk, gözlere kulaklara yayılan ağrı, yorgunluk, huzursuzluk, terleme gibi semptomlar göstermektedir. Bu sendrorn oral dyseasthesia, glossopyrosis, glossodynia olarak da adi andı n [maktadır. Etyolojisinde çeşitli faktörlerin rol oynaması nedeni ile tanı koymada güçlüklerle karşılaşılmaktadır. Spesifik bir tedavisi yoktur, HekimSerin gerek tam koymada, gerekse tedavide en çok zorlandıkları hastalıklar, etyolojisi bilinmeyen, klinik bulgusu saptanamayan sadece hastaların tarif edebildikleri semptomların bulunduğu vakalardır. B u makalenin amaç ı m evcut olan li teratürü incelemek, bu hastalara teşhis ve tedavi protokolü önermektir.
