Jeannette Winterson’s Sexing the Cherry is an important example for postmodern narrative strategies. It employs such postmodern techniques as multiple perspectives, grafting and transplantation of literary genres, hybridization, destabilization of spatio-temporal dimension alluding to assumptions of quantum physics, and a challenge to traditional categories of a unified and heterosexual subjectivity. Consequently, Sexing the Cherry mixes reality with fantasy and the fantastic, and the boundaries of any sort are breached. The characters/narrators are in search of alternatives to current positions/conditions.

Jeannette Winterson’ın Vişnenin Cinsiyeti başlıklı romanı postmodern anlatı stratejileri açısından önemli bir örnektir. Metin çoğul perspektifler, edebi türlerin aşılanması, melezleme, kuantum fiziğinin varsayımlarını anıştıran uzam-zaman boyutunun istikrarsızlaştırılması, geleneksel birlikli ve heteroseksüel öznellik kategorilerine karşı çıkış gibi postmodern teknikler kullanır. Sonuç olarak gerçeklikle fantezi ve fantastik iç içe girer ve her türden sınır aşılır. Karakterler/anlatıcılar mevcut konum/koşulların alternatiflerinin peşindedirler.
