Faith development is an area that done a lot of research in recent years. There are many faith development approaches in the domestic and foreign languages. Moreover, the information obtained through these approaches seem to have reached a significant sum. It is necessary for religious education to place himself in a more developmental platform taking into account the developmental data, especially findings obtained from the faith development researches. In this study, tried to read data that obtained on the faith development field as a longitudinal perspective and put together. Motivated by this information it is emphasized that faith education should be constructed taking into consideration the developmental interests, aspirations and faith development of mankind, especially findings obtained in the researches on faith development.

İnanç gelişimi son yıllarda üzerinde çokça araştırma yapılan bir konudur. Gerek yerli gerekse yabancı dilde üretilen bilimsel literatürde inanç gelişimiyle ilgili çok sayıda yaklaşım bulunmaktadır. Dahası bu yaklaşımlardan hareketle elde edilen bilgi ve bulgular önemli bir yeküne ulaşmış görünmektedir. Din eğitiminin gelişimsel verileri dikkate alarak özellikle de inanç gelişimine dair yapılan araştırmalardan elde edilen bulguları hesaba katarak kendini daha gelişimsel bir çerçevede ele alması gereklidir. Bu çalışmada inanç gelişimi konusunda ulaşılan veriler yaşam boyu perspektifiyle okunmaya ve bir araya getirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu bilgilerden hareketle inanç eğitiminin gelişimsel verileri de hesaba katarak, insani yeterlik ve potansiyelleri, gelişimsel ilgi ve beklentileri gözeterek kurgulanması gerektiği vurgulanmıştır.
