Abstract (2. Language):
In this study monoazo dyes were synthesized by diazotation of several substituted aminobenzene and coupling with benzene-1,3-diol compound. The chemical structures of the compounds were characterized by the spectroscopic techniques. Tautomeric properties of the ortohydroxymonoazo compounds were examined by using UV-Vis. spectrophotometric technique in pure polar and apolar solvent media (DMSO, dimethyl sulfoxide; EtOH, ethanol; CHCl3, chloroform; C6H6, benzene and C6H12, cyclohexane) and, in acidic and basic solutions of these solvents at 25±1oC, 35±1oC and 45±1oC. Percentage of the keto-amine tautomers were calculated for all compounds.
