Job satisfaction is one of the most discussed subjects in the management pschology field. However, there are not sufficient research concerning with job satisfaction level of academics. The aims of this research are to fill this gap to some extent and to point out the factors affecting job satisfaction. For this reason, the data were collected from 138 academics working in eight different public universities. According to the research, job satisfacton is affected by freedom to give decisions, good conditions for implementing new programs, cooperation with colleagues and wage factors.

İş tatmini, yönetim psikolojisi dalında en sık çalışılan konulardan bir tanesidir. Ancak, ülkemizde üniversite öğretim elemanlarının iş tatmini düzeylerine yönelik çalışmalar oldukça sınırlıdır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Türkiye'deki bu boşluğu bir derece olsun doldurabilmek ve iş tatmini düzeyini etkileyen faktörleri belirtmektir. Bu amaçla, anket çalışması uygulanmış ve anket formu, sekiz kamu üniversitesinden 138 öğretim elemanınca doldurulmuştur. Uygulanan analiz sonucunda iş tatmini düzeyinin; özgürce karar verebilme, yeni programlar uygulamak için şartların uygun olması, diğer çalışanlarla işbirliği ve ücret faktörlerinden etkilendiğini söyleyebiliriz.
