Abstract (2. Language):
Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) is a very rare and fatal complication of measles infection which is seen 2 to 21 years after initial infection. The incidence of SSPE is 1/ 300.000. Observation.- A 25 years old case with SSPE was presented. He had clinical and radiological evidence of progressive brain involvement. The stereotactic brain biopsy revealed secondary demiyelination, lymphocytic cuffing, viral inclusion within oligodendroglia and neurons which showed immunhistochemically positive reaction with measles virus primary antibody. The differential diagnosis was made between the other viral encephalitis and the literature was reviewed.
Abstract (Original Language):
Subakut sklerozan panensefalit kızam ık infeksiyonunun oldukça nadir görü- len, fatal seyreden bir komplikasyonudur. Literatürde insidensi 1/300.000 olarak verilmektedir. Hastalık primer infeksiyonu 2 ile 21 yıl takiben ortaya çıkar. 25 yaşında erkek hastada klinik ve radyolojik olarak hızlı seyirli beyin tutulumu nedeni ile yapılan stereotaksik biopside SSPE tanısı konulan olgu sunulmaktadır. Biopsinin değerlendirilmesinde sekonder demiyelinizasyon, lenfositik infiltrasyon, oligodendroglia ve nöronal hücrelerde immunhistokimyasal olarak kızamık virus primer antikoru ile pozitif reaksiyon veren viral inküluzyonlar saptandı. Olgunun diğer viral ensefalitler ile ayı- rıcı tanısı yapılarak literatür bilgisi ışığında değerlendirildi.
