UNIQUE COINS WHICH ARE MINTED İN THE TRITE UNIT OF HOLMOI CITY

This article aims at the purpose of introducing and evaluating the silver coin in unique characteristics as minted in the trite unit (1/3 stater) which is newly obtained from Holmoi city which is an original place within the Cilicia numismatics. There is cavalier riding a horse as bended on the front side of this coin which is matchless in the literature and there is also prora and dolphin illustration on the back side. The illustration of the bended cavalier riding a horse which takes part on the front side of the coin is in similarity with the coin type of the Kelenderis city as well. It is understood that this illustration which is known as used on the coins of this city only in Cilicia is also present in the coin of another city of the same region. The front and back sides of this coin are a new situation for the Holmoi city coins. The prora illustration which takes part on the back side is represented only with this example in the Greek Period Cilicia coin typology.It also appeared that there is trite minted in the Holmoi city coins by means of this coin which is in the published unique exemplary status. The coin type which is the subject of the article made some new contributions to the Cilicia numismatics by means of these characteristics contained.

Bu makale Kilikya nümismatiği içinde kendine has bir yeri olan Holmoi şehrinin yeni ortaya çıkan trite biriminde (üçte bir stater) basılmış ünik nitelikteki gümüş sikkesini tanıtıp değerlendirme amacını gütmektedir. Bu benzersiz sikkenin ön yüzünde ata yan binmiş süvari, arka yüzünde ise pruva ve yunus balığı tasviri bulunmaktadır.
Holmoi şehrinin bahse konu ünik sikkesinin ön yüzünde yer alan ata yan binmiş süvari tasviri Kelenderis şehrinin sikke tipinden esinlenilmiştir. Kilikya'da sadece bu şehrin sikkelerinde kullanıldığı bilinen bu tasvirin aynı bölgedeki bir başka şehir sikkesinde de yer aldığı anlaşılmıştır. Bu sikkedeki ön ve arka yüz tipleri Holmoi şehir sikkeleri için yeni bir durumdur. Arka yüzünde yer alan pruva tasviri ise Grek Dönemi Kilikya sikke tipolojisi içinde sadece bu örnekle temsil edilmektedir. Makaleye konu olan sikke tipinin içerdiği bu özellikler Kilikya nümismatiğine yeni katkılar sağlamıştır. Yayınlanmış yegâne örnek durumundaki bu sikkeyle Holmoi şehir sikkeleri içinde trite basımının da olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.
