Abstract (2. Language):
The new economic history or the cliometric school, which can be traced to 1957, introduced a new approach to the economic history. The school has attempted to combine economic theory and quantitative methods for reconsidering the issues in economic history. In the study, the past and the present of the school and its contribution to the writing of economic history have been evaluated.
