Abstract (2. Language):
This study has considered the relationships between economic growth and FDI in the 27 transition economies that accepted free market economy after collapse of Soviet Union. In the study, the relationships between FDI and growth in transition economies have been researched by using panel data analysis 1990-2002 period. These relationships have been analyzed in all of the 27 transition economies, and also for the countries of Central East Europe (CEE) and Central West Asia (CWA). While the findings demonstrate that FDI is an important factor in the economic growth of the transition economies, it does not show meaningful relationships between FDI and economic growth for the CWA countries. This result has supported the hypothesis that FDI is a dynamic factor of economic growth of developing countries that have political stability, a position next to developed countries, and a given development level
