“Sefine-i Evliya” the book of Huseyin Vassaf Bey is having a classical
quality in history of sufism. In this precious biografic study, the sufi
lived in Sivas for some time or from Sivas have tried to be signed.
Because of the wish about to give more tidy and gathered information,
to show the city of Sivas sufism structure was one of the reason of
writing this article. The goal was not about the lives of the people told
in this book so we will examine the information about people that
Huseyin Vassaf told and his study style in article rules.

Tasavvuf tarihi alanında Hüseyin Vassaf Bey’in “Sefîne-i Evliyâ” isimli
eseri bir klâsik eser niteliği taşımaktadır. Bu önemli biyografik eserde anlatılan,
Sivas’ta bir müddet ikâmet eden veya Sivaslı olan sûfîler bu çalışmada
tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu alanda araştırma yapacak kimselere
daha derli toplu bir bilgi sunma endişesi ve Sivas’ın tasavvufî alt yapısını
gözler önüne serme çabası bu makalenin oluşmasında etkili olmuştur.
Amaç, ismi sayılan şahısların hayatlarını detaylı incelemek olmadığından
Hüseyin Vassaf’ın şahıslar hakkında verdiği bilgiler ve bu bilgileri
işleme tarzı, makalenin sınırları içerisinde incelenecektir.
