Nowadays, coming to the middle of the first quarter of the 21th century,
the flow of life is faster than ever; social, cultural, economic and
technological changes affect the approaches and the conception of the
education. Frequently revised education programmes introduce also
a need of developing new teaching methods and materials appropriate
to themselves. Meeting the qualifications of this need “photo interpretation”,
as a method of values education, is one of the appro priate methods of today's constructivist education and studentcentered
teaching programme.
Photo interpretation is a measuring and evaluating method
both theoretically and practically appropriate to the goals of values
education.
In this article it is discussed what the photo interpretation is,
its advantageous and limited aspects and how to apply. Moreover,
giving two sample applications, the phases and characteristics are
indicated.
These two sample applications were carried out by the teachers
in various branches in four different educational institutions. Before
the sample application, method related information and materials
were given to the teachers. At the end of the sample applications,
face to face interviews were made with the applying teachers; then,
the results and reviews were produced.

21. yüzyılın ilk çeyreginin ortalarına yaklastıgımız su yıllarda
hayatın akısı her zamankinden daha hızlı olmakta; sosyal
kültürel, ekonomik ve teknolojik degisimler, egitim yaklasımlarını
ve anlayıslarını etkilemektedir. Sık sık revize edilen
egitim programları, kendisine uygun yeni ögretim yöntemleri
ve materyalleri gelistirme ihtiyacını da beraberinde
getirmektedir. Bu ihtiyacı karsılayacak nitelikleri tasıyan bir
degerler ögretimi yöntemi olarak ‘fotograf yorumlama’ bugünkü
yapılandırmacı egitim anlayısı ve ögrenci merkezli
ögretim programına uygun yöntemlerden biridir.Fotograf yorumlama, kuramsal ve pratik olarak degerler egitimi
hedeflerine uygun ve ölçüp degerlendirilebilir bir yöntemdir.
Bu makalede fotograf yorumlama yönteminin ne oldugu,
üstün ve sınırlı yönleri ve nasıl uygulanacagı ele alınmıstır.
Ayrıca iki örnek uygulama verilerek, uygulama asamaları ve
nitelikleri gösterilmistir.
Ýki örnek uygulama, dört farklı egitim kurumunda degisik
dallardaki ögretmenler tarafından yapılmıstır. Örnek uygulama
öncesinde ögretmenlere yöntemle ilgili bilgi ve malzeme
verilmistir. Örnek uygulamalar sonunda, uygulayıcı
ögretmenlerle yüz yüze mülakat gerçeklestirilmis ve sonuçlar
ve degerlendirmeler ortaya konmustur.
