Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study is to determine the reasons for students irregular attendance
and the effect on their academic performance. The research was conducted via survey method.
The subject of the research includes 308 students from Kütahya Atatürk Anatolian Technical
and Vocational High School. Research data consists of the information obtained from the
“Reasons of Irregular Attendance” questionnaire developed by the researcher and from the
administrative recordings of the school about irregular attendance. According to the findings
of the study, there is an opposite relation between the academic performance and irregular
attendance without an acceptable excuse.

Bu arastırmanın amacı; öğrenci devamsızlıklarının nedenlerini ve akademik basarıya
olan etkisini belirlemektir. Arastırma tarama modelinde gerçeklestirilmistir. Arastırma evreni,
Kütahya Atatürk Anadolu Teknik ve Endüstri Meslek Lisesinde öğrenim gören 308
öğrenciden olusmaktadır. Veriler arastırmacı tarafından gelistirilen ‘Devamsızlık Nedenleri’
anketi ve okul kayıtlarından elde edilen öğrenci devamsızlıklarına iliskin bilgilerden
olusmaktadır Arastırma sonucunda, öğrencilerin akademik performansları ile özürsüz
devamsızlıkları arasında ters yönde bir iliski bulunmustur.
