Abstract (2. Language):
In this research, the resources have been studied for musicians who have started jazz music and wanted to
improve their improvisation ability. It can be said that improvisation is maybe the most important part of jazz
music. While playing music, the musician can play an entirely new improvised melody line independent from
the main theme. This performance can be done based on the chords of the score. It’s very hard to explain that
how to improvise exactly, according to which rules we pick the notes and how to build musical sentences, in
theoretically. Instead, as a first step it’s a must that the relationship between the art of the phrasing and
harmony and music theory must be understood. The books (The Art of Improvisation (B. Taylor), Improvisation
Made Easier (F. Gambale), Improvising Jazz Piano (J. Mehegan), Pentatonic Scales of Jazz Improvisation (R.
Ricker)) in this research include chapters and examples about how to create melodies in this manner.

Bu araştırmada caz müziğine yeni başlamış veya yol katetmiş müzisyenlerin doğaçlama kabiliyetlerini
geliştirmede faydalanabilecekleri kaynaklar incelenmiştir. Doğaçlama, caz müziğinin en önemli unsurudur
denebilir. Müzisyen, bir caz eserinin icrası esnasında, eserin melodik yapısının haricinde eserden farklı olarak
tamamen doğaçlama melodiler çalabilir. Bu performans, eserde bulunan (veya eklenen) akorlar çerçevesinde o
an gerçekleştirilir. Doğaçlamanın tam olarak nasıl yapıldığını; notaların hangi kriterlere göre seçildiğini ve
cümlelerin hangi düşünceye göre oluşturulduğunu teorik olarak anlatmak oldukça zordur. Bunun yerine önce,
cümleleme sanatının armoni ve temel teori ile olan ilişkini anlamak bir gerekliliktir. İncelenen metotlar, irticalen
melodi üretmeyi bu çerçevede örneklerle anlatmışlardır.
Bu incelemede, The Art of Improvisation (B. Taylor), Improvisation Made Easier (F. Gambale), Improvising Jazz
Piano (J. Mehegan), Pentatonic Scales of Jazz Improvisation (R. Ricker) kitapları incelenmiş, öğrenciye verdiği
faydaları ve dezavantajları belirlenmiş ve müzisyenin teknik seviyesine göre sınıflandırılmıştır
