Abstract (2. Language):
One of the factors that affect learning is motivation on the expectations and wishes of the student towards the
course. A student determines itself willingness of learning in a course and how to develop motivation
direction. In this study, we will focus on how learning motivation is influenced when a distance education
course is given to the student by his/her preference or a mandatory basis. For this purpose, grades has been
compared in two distance education courses which are commonly enrolled students are from face to face
education departments and distance education departments. As a result of statistical analysis, distance
education students were observed to be relatively more successful.

Öğrenmeyi etkileyen faktörlerden birisi de öğrencinin derse karşı olan beklenti ve isteklerine yönelik
motivasyondur. Öğrenci herhangi bir dersi nasıl öğrenmek istediğine ilişkin iradesini kendi kendine belirler ve
motivasyonu o yönde gelişir. Bu çalışmada uzaktan eğitim derslerinin öğrenci tarafından tercih edilmesi veya
öğrenciye zorunlu olarak verilmesi durumunda öğrenme motivasyonunun nasıl etkilendiği üzerinde
durulacaktır. Bu amaçla, uzaktan eğitime olarak verilen iki ayrı dersi ortak alan örgün bölüm ve uzaktan eğitim
programlarına kayıtlı öğrencilerin aldıkları notlar karşılaştırılmıştır. Yapılan istatistiksel analizler sonucunda,
uzaktan eğitim öğrencilerinin biraz daha başarılı oldukları görülmüştür.
