Abstract (2. Language):
It is expected that an effective corporate governance structure will provide a business with very important interests in all aspects besides its positive effects on the
financial structure of the business. In accordance with this prospect, it was aimed
to determine whether corporate governance an effect upon the financial structure of a business. In line with this, the financial ratios, which belong to the periods before (2006) and after (2009) index, of manufacturing businesses in İstanbul Stock Exchange Corporate Governance Index were analysed through comparison with the sector mean. The results of the analysis have shown that the businesses had a better performance in the period after index when compared with
the sector mean in terms of activity and profitability ratios.

Etkin bir kurumsal yönetim yapısına sahip olmanın işletme ile ilgili tüm taraflara sağlayacağı çok önemli faydaların yanı sıra, işletmenin finansal yapısına da
olumlu şekilde yansıması beklenmektedir. Bu beklenti doğrultusunda çalışmada
kurumsal yönetimin işletmelerin finansal yapısı üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır.
Bu çerçevede İMKB Kurumsal Yönetim Endeksi kapsamında yer alan imalat sektörü işletmelerinin endekse girmeden önceki (2006) ve sonraki (2009) döneme
ait finansal oranları bulundukları sektörün ortalamaları ile karşılaştırılarak analiz
edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz neticesinde, özellikle faaliyet ve karlılık oranları açısından endekse girdikten sonraki dönemde ilgili firmaların bulundukları sektörün ortalamalarına kıyasla daha iyi bir performans gösterdiği gözlenmiştir.
