Abstract (2. Language):
Cerebral alveolar echinococcosis is a rare infestation of Echinococcus accounting for only 1% of patients infected with this parasite. This disease is endemic in Turkey and it is particularly common in the eastern Anatolia region. A 33-year-old female patient presented with neurological symptoms to our hospital with neurological symptoms and she previously had diagnosis of liver echinococcus alveolaris. Imaging studies showed a mass lesion in cerebrum which was diagnosed as cerebral alveolar echinococcosis. In this report we discussed computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of cerebral alveolar echinococcosis with emphasizing distinguishing imaging features of this disease from other cerebral mass lesions.
