Abstract (2. Language):
One of the main element of fictive works is place. With bringing trueness to
narrated matters, place assings a situation to fictive work. Furthermore, place, has
possesion of more significiant function, such as construction of character. In
descriptive works, one of the methods to examine the function of place is considering
the place in the aspect of peripheral an factual place. Place with the aspect of
peripherality and factuality, examines the problematicalness of place-person
identicalness.
In this work, in the mathnawi of Yusuf u Zuleyha written by 15. Century poet, Hamdî,
function of place, will be discussed around this method.

Kurmaca eserlerin ana unsurlarından biri de mekândır. Mekân, anlatılanlara
gerçeklik kazandırmakla, kurmaca esere, bir yer tahsis eder. Mekân, bundan baska,
karakter çizimi gibi, daha önemli bir isleve de sahiptir. Tasvirî eserlerde, mekânın
fonksiyonunu inceleme yöntemlerinden biri de mekânın, çevresel ve olgusal mekânlar
yönüyle ele alınmasıdır. Çevresel ve olgusal yönüyle mekân, kisi-yer özdesikligi
sorunsallıgını tahlil eder. Bu çalısmada, 15. Asır sairlerinden Hamdî’nin Yusuf u
Züleyha mesnevisinde mekânın fonksiyonu, bu yöntem çerçevesinde ele alınmaya
çalısılacaktır.
