Abstract (2. Language):
This study has been made for the purpose of identifying the psychological needs of the
policemen who do not do sports (P.W.D.D.S) and with the Police National Football Team
Police Players (P.N.F.T.P.P.). 40 police officers, 20 of whom work in different cities in
Turkey and play for Police National Football Team, and 20 policemen in Police Collage
Directorate were included in the survey. The ages of the respondents change between 25.
And 35. For the psychological needs the measurement instrument known as EPPS and
translated by Yıldız KUZGUN, which is tested from the point of reliability and validity was
used. In analysing the data, T test was applied. From the point of psychological needs
among P.N.F.T.P.P.-P.W.D.D.S. at the sub-criteria of achievement, conformity, order,
exhibition, autonomy, sympathy, empathy, leadership, self-accusation, determination,
relations with the opposite sex, and aggression, no significant difference was found
(P>0.05). From the point of psychological needs, a significant difference between
P.N.F.T.P.P.-P.W.D.D.S. in change sub-criterion has been found. The change motivation of
P.N.F.T.P.P.is more than that of P.W.D.D.S. and this difference is significant (P<0.05).

Bu çalışma, Polis Milli Futbol TakımıFutbolcusu üst düzey sporcu polislerle, Spor
Yapmayan Polislerin psikolojik ihtiyaçlarıve bazısosyal ve sportif özelliklerini belirlemek
amacıile yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya Türkiye genelinde değişik illerde ve birimlerde polislik
yapan ve Polis Milli Futbol takımınıoluşturan 20 futbolcu polisle, Polis Koleji
Müdürlüğünde Çalışan 20 Spor Yapmayan 40 Polis alınmıştır. Deneklerin yaşları25 ile 35
arasında değişmektedir. Araştırmada psikolojik ihtiyaçlar için (Edwards Personal
Preference Schedule, E.P.P.S.) olarak bilinen Prof. Dr. Yıldız Kuzgun tarafından Türkçe’ye
çevrilen geçerliliği ve güvenirliği test edilmişölçme aracıkullanılmıştır. Verilerin
analizinde t testi uygulanmıştır. Psikolojik ihtiyaçlar bakımından P.M.F.T.S. – S.O.P. ’lar
arasında Başarma, Uyarlık, Düzen, Gösteriş, Özerklik, Yakınlık Gösterme, Duyguları
Anlama, İlgi Gösterme, Başatlık, Kendini Suçlama, Şefkat Gösterme, Sebat, KarşıCinsle
İlişkiler, Saldırganlık alt ölçeklerinde anlamlısonuçlar bulunamamıştır (P>0.05).
Psikolojik ihtiyaçlar bakımından P.M.F.T.S. – S.O.P. ’lar arasında Değişiklik alt ölçeğinde
anlamlıfark bulunmuştur. P.M.F.T.S.’ in değişiklik güdüsü, S.O.P. ‘den daha fazladır ve bu
fark anlamlıdır (P<0.0)5.
