Abstract (2. Language):
Purpura fulminans is defined as ecchymotic skin lesions accompanied by fever and hypotension. The majority of the cases are associated with meningococcal sepsis, however, Streptococcus pneumonia and other streptococci may also cause purpura fulminans. Purpura fulminans developing due to Streptococcus pneumonia in a previously healthy 3.5-month-old male infant is presented herein.
