The price of oil is a major uncertainty that affects every aspect of global oil demand, production capacity, investment, and the elasticity of demand and supply. This article does focus on a wide range of oil prices related issues. It attempts to analyze world oil supply and demand in addition to outlining major developments in the world market for oil prices. The potential impact of high oil prices in easy the strain on world oil market becomes even clearer when one looks at the impact of oil prices on the need for OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) conventional oil production policy and geopolitical risks.

Günümüzde ekonomik politik dengede petrol fiyatı, büyük bir belirsizlik içinde bulunmakta olup, küresel petrol talebinin her yönünü, üretim kapasitesini, yatım olanaklarını, arz ve talebin esnekliğini önemli ölçüde etkilemektedir. Bu makale, büyük çapta petrol fiyatları ile ilgili konulara odaklanmaktadır. Dünya pazarında petrol fiyatlarında yasanan büyük değisimlerin ana hatlarını belirlemenin yanında, dünya petrol arz ve talebinin analizi yapılmaktadır. Yüksek petrol fiyatlarının dünya petrol pazarı üzerindeki potansiyel gücü, petrol fiyatlarının OPEC (Petrol İhraç Eden Ülkeler Topluluğu) 'in geleneksel petrol üretim politikası ve jeopolitik riskler üzerindeki etkisi analiz edildiğinde daha iyi anlasılmaktadır.
