Abstract (2. Language): 
Public and private are sectors that main dynamics of them are different from each other. Primary motivation of public sector is creating social benefits while it is making profits in private sector. Nowadays with improvements in private health services, sustainability in competition become one of the priority issues for public health care organizations. To ensure sustainability and continuity of health care organizations in competitive market, managers in health care should know factors affecting health care consumers’ choice of health care services. In this theoretical examination it is aimed to examine factors affecting health care consumers’ choices about health care services while focusing on health sector as an organizational field and considering main motivation differences between public and private sectors. It was seen that various factors like socio-demographic factors, access to health services and degree of professionalism in health services are affecting health care consumers’ choices about health care services. It is expected that public and private sector managers, who are aware of factors affecting patient choices in health care market, will develop strategies that will make a difference in competitive environment by examining theoretical information presented in this study.

Kamu ve özel temel dinamikleri birbirinden farklı olan sektörlerdir. Kamu sektöründe temel motivasyon sosyal fayda yaratmak iken, özel sektörde kar elde etmektir. Günümüzde özel sağlık hizmetlerinin gelişimi ile birlikte kamu sağlık kuruluşları için rekabette sürdürülebilirlik öncelikli konulardan birisi haline gelmiştir. Sağlık kuruluşlarının sürdürülebilirliğini sağlayabilmek ve rekabet ortamında ayakta kalabilmeleri için sağlık yöneticilerinin sağlık hizmetleri tüketicilerinin sağlık hizmetleri seçimlerine etki eden faktörleri bilmeleri gereklidir. Bu teorik incelemede bir örgütsel alan olarak sağlık sektörüne odaklanılarak kamu ve özel sektör arasındaki temel motivasyon farklılıkları dikkate alındığında sağlık hizmetleri tüketicilerinin sağlık kuruluşu seçimini etkileyen faktörlerin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Yapılan incelemede sosyo-demografik faktörler, hizmete erişim ve hizmet sunumunda profesyonellik derecesi gibi çok çeşitli faktörlerin sağlık hizmetleri tüketicilerinin sağlık kuruluşu seçiminde etkili olduğu görülmüştür. Sağlık hizmetleri pazarında tüketicilerin tercihlerini etkileyen faktörlerin farkında olan kamu ve özel sektör yöneticilerinin bu çalışmada sunulan teorik bilgileri sınayarak rekabet ortamında fark yaratabilecek stratejiler geliştirmeleri beklenmektedir.
