Abstract (2. Language):
In this study Stendhal's Red and Black and Gustave Flaubert's Madam Bovary novels written in the XlXth century will be focused on. The novel Red and Black reflects the social, religous and political panorama of the early XDCth. century. The topic we have studied in this work is the being dominated of the affection and love of Mme Renal for her own best loved childern by the desperate love she feels for Julien Sorel. In the second part we have the central character of the novel Madam Bovary which telles a family life in the second quarter of XlXth. century. Emma, though she is a country girl, runs after the expectations which is often unlikely to get. Emma supposes that she can find the sentimantality in the novels in real life as well. She learns some social tastes from the novels. Yet these a remote tastes and dreams isolate Emma from the real life so much so that she can not show her love and affection for her own girl.
We tried to study and dispose the failure of the two central characters to show their motherly feelings for their children.

Bu incelememizde, XIX . yüzyıl Fransız yazarlardan, Stendhal'in Kırmızı ve Siyah ile Gustave Flaubert'in Madame Bovary adlı yapıtlarını, annelik duygusunu işleyiş yönüyle, ele aldık. Kırmızı ve Siyah romanı, XIX. yüzyılın ilk yıllarındaki sosyal, dini ve siyasi durumu yansıtan bir yapıttır. Bu yazımızda, Mme de Renal'in Julien Sorel'e duyduğu aşka yenilerek, çok sevdiği çocuklarına vermiş olduğu değerin zayıflamasınıgöstereceğiz. Çalışmamızın ikinci bölümünde ise, XIX. yüzyılın ikinci çeyreğinde bir aile yaşantısını anlatan, Madame Bovary adlı romanın ana kahramanı Emma'yı gerçekler ve hayaller arasında yaşadıklarıyla ele aldık. Emma, taşralı kızı olmasına rağmen, elde edilmesi çok güç olan hayaller peşinde koşmaktadır. Roman kahramanımız, zevklerini çağın romanlarından elde etmiş, okuduğu kitaplardaki duygusallığı gerçek hayatında bulacağını sanmıştır. Halbuki hayalleri Emma'yı gerçek hayatından uzaklaştırır, öz kızına dahi annelik duygu ve şefkatini gösteremez hale getirir.
Bu yolla bu iki eserin ana kahramanı olan Mme de Renal ile Mme Bovary'deki annelik duygusunun çocuklarına aktanlmayışını ve nedenlerini göz önüne sermeye çalıştık.
