Abstract (2. Language):
In this study, the relationship between young people's vandalism and the significance of their involvement with a peer group is analyzed. The significance of young people's involvement with a peer group is analyzed by the following variables: young people's involvement with a peer group, the significance they attribute to the involvement with a peer group, their frequency of getting together with the peer group, whether they are influenced by the thoughts and behaviors of their peer group, how important they find their peer group's activities, and ho w many activities they carry out with their peer group. As for young people's vandalism, giving damage to family, school and public properties is investigated. The study concludes that there is an important connection between the significance of involvement with a peer group and young people's vandalism. The importance young people attribute to the involvement with the peer group results in their efforts to sustain long-term relationships with their peer group. In this context, behaving in accordance with the peer group's wishes gains importance for young people, even if this involves vandalist behaviors.
