in 16 players of a secondary league football team; erythrocyte count, hematocrit, hemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume, serum iron, total iron binding capacity, ferritin, percent transferrin saturation, aerobic power (indirect max V02 ml/min/kg). There were statistically significant increases with training in serum ferritin, total iron binding capacity and max V02 values (p<0.01). It has been observed that training has no negative effect on iron status in football players.

Bir ikinci lig futbol takımının 16 oyuncusunda 8 haftalık antrenman döneminden önce ve sonra; fiziksel profil ve eritrosit sayısı, hematokrit değer (Htc) hemoglobin miktarı (Hb), ortalama eritrosit hacmi (MCV), serum demir (Fe), total demir bağlama kapasitesi (TDBK), ferritin (Ferr), transferrin satü-rasyonu (%TS) ile aerobik güç (indirekt max V02 ml/dk/kg) değerleri tayin edilerek, antrenmanla değişim oranları incelendi. Antrenmanla serum ferritin, TDBK ve max V02 değerlerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı artışlar tesbit edildi (p<0.01). Antrenmanın futbolcularda demir ile ilgili hematolojik parametrelere olumsuz etki göstermediği gözlendi.
