Abstract (2. Language):
The objective of this study was to examine the effects of Olympic rhytmic gymnastic on gymnasts. For this purpose 9 active elite gymnasts (age 13.33±1.2 years, height 154±0.3 cm; body weight 41.0±7.1 kg) were volunteered to participate as subjects. 9 randomly selected non active females, at a similar age (age 13.23±1.2; height 155.0+0.1 cm, body weight 57.1±9.05 kg) sedanter subjects were also participated as control group. Changes in explosive strength related to maximal strength was tested by Bosco Ergjump system with 30 seconds multiple jumps, and the cardiovascular fitness was tested using PWC 170 test using Monark model 814 £ Statistical analysis Mann Whitney-test was used. When for power output (Watt) results of the gymnasts and the control group in 30 second multiple jump test compared as first and second 15 seconds intervals, it was observed that in both parts gymnasts performed higher power output compared to control group (U=81, p<0.05; U=81, p<0.05 respectively). When the decline of the power output in the second 15 second interval was compared with the first 15 second interval it was observed that in both groups the difference between the intervals were not significant. However the decline of the power output in gymnasts was less compare to control group (10.37±8.15 %; 8.36±4.87 % respectively), and the difference between the intervals was not significant when the groups were compared (U=53, p<0.05). Although the results of PWC 170 test were low in both groups (gymnasts 1.81±0.3, control 1.41+0.2 Watt/kg), the results of the were significantly higher compared to control group (U=66, p<0.05). From the results of this sutdy it can be concluded that despite the fact that the rythmic gymnastics is based on aesthetics, form, and elegance; at the same time it may influence the development of strength and cardiovascular endurance compare to similar age non active children.
