Abstract (2. Language):
Descartes explain happiness as a perfect satisfaction of
mind and inner pleasure. He claims that happiness relies upon virtue,
and the virtue depends upon the employment of reason. Furthermore,
the reason shows that the greatest good within our power
is the refinement of the will. Descartes argues that the passions form
an important part of a human life. To be happiness we should control
them.

Descartes, mutluluğu tam bir ruh memnunluğu ve iç hoşnutluğu
olarak tanımlar. O mutluluğu erdeme, erdemin de aklın iyi
kullanılmasına bağlı olduğunu iddia etmektedir. Gücümüz dahilinde
olan en yüksek iyinin ıslah edilmiş irade olduğunu akıl bize göstermektedir.
Descartes ihtirasların insan yaşamının önemli bölümünü
oluşturduğunu ileri sürmektedir. Mutlu olmak için bu ihtirasları
kontrol etmek gerekir.
