Abstract (2. Language):
Cardiovascular risk factors are associated with percent body fat and body fat distribution. In the present study it was aimed to investigate the relationship between percent body fat and body fat distribution and blood glucose, basal insulin, lipid levels and cholinesterase activities. This study was performed on 60 healthy volunteers (34 mate, 26 female). Percent body fat was calculated by Durnin-Womersley formula from skinfolds. Body fat distribution was evaluated from the ratio of subscapular skinfold to triceps skinfold (STR). Blood glucose, basal insulin, cholesterol, triglyceride, phospholipid. HDL. LDL levels as well as plasma and erythrocyte cholinesterase activities were analyzed by commercial kits supplied from various companies. Percent body fats of males were found to be positively correlated to PC HE, triglyceride, basal insulin levels, negatively correlated to EACHE. while percent body fats of females were positively correlated to basal insulin, PCHE, LDL, negatively to EACHE. STR was only correlated to HDL and basal insulin in men. It was concluded that results showed that cardiovascular risk factors were more correlated to percent body fat than body fat distribution, and that this was due to assessment of body fat distribution by STR, not waist-to-hip ratio. Çalışma 26'sı kadın, 34 'ü erkek, 60 gönüllü üzerinde yapıldı, t'i/cut yağ yüzdesi Durnin-liornerslev formülü ile deri kıvrım kalınlıklarından, vücut yağ dağılımı ise sııbskapular deri kıvrım kalınlığının triceps deri kıvrım kalınlığına orar > (STR) kullanılarak hesaplandı, (ilikoz, bazal insülin. kolesterol, trigliserit. fosfolipid.
