Purpose of this presentation is to review the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) findings of holoprosencephaly pertaining to embriologycal, clinical and current literature. To this goal, MRI findings of a 6-day-old newborn with semilobar holoprosencephaly, microcephaly and hypotelorizm is discussed. A separation defect was observed in the forebrain and midbrain structures including frontal lobes and thalamic nuclei. Additionally, hypogenetic septum pellucidum was detected. Differential diagnosis of subtypes of holoprosencephaly and etiology of the pathology are discussed.

Seyrek görülen konjenital bir anomali olan Holoprosensefali' nin manyetik rezonans bulguları embriyolojik, klinik ve literatür bulguları eşliğinde gözden geçirilerek tartışıldı. Bu amaçla mikrosefali ve hipotelorizmi olan 6 günlük bir semilobar lıaloprosensefali olgusu MR bulguları eşliğinde değerlendirildi. Olguda, frontal loblardan başlayarak mezensefalona kadar olan ön ve orta serebral yapıların orta hatta birleşik olduğu ve septum pellusidumun gelişmediği izlendi. Semilobar holoprosensefalinin diğer tip holoprosensefalilerden radyolojik olarak nasıl ayırt edilebileceği tartışıldı. Etyolojik faktörlerden yeni literatür bulguları eşliğinde söz edildi.
